Our standards
Standards are only useful when they are specific enough to be broken.
Communication
- We explain limitations and tradeoffs alongside benefits, in the same conversation.
- We use plain language and define terms rather than relying on industry shorthand.
- We do not use fear, urgency or scarcity as persuasion tools.
- We do not make comparative claims about other professionals or firms.
Recommendations
- Strategy precedes product selection in every engagement.
- We disclose how a recommendation is compensated when one is made.
- We document why an approach fits and what would make it unsuitable.
- We are willing to recommend no change at all.
Scope
- Legal work stays with attorneys. Tax positions stay with tax professionals.
- We coordinate. We do not replace the licensed professional responsible for a discipline.
- Where a question exceeds our scope, we say so directly.
Important disclosure
This material is provided for general education only. It is not legal, tax, accounting or investment advice, and it is not a recommendation to buy or sell any product. Strategies described here are not suitable for everyone, and outcomes depend on individual circumstances, product terms, carrier strength and current law. Work with your own licensed legal and tax professionals before acting.
